SMILE-DIH, the Digital Innovation Hub participated by the Parma Union of Industrialists and the University of Parma, has set up a demonstrator of IoT and Digital Twin solutions, available to companies wishing to learn the advantages that the combination of IoT (Internet of Things) and Digital Twin (virtual digital twin capable of simulating or replicating a real situation) technologies can bring to the field industrial.
It is a laboratory funded by the Emilia-Romagna Region, created to promote and disseminate digitization services through the use of these technologies.
Specifically, the project develops two types of demonstrators (and 2 solutions for each) to be viewed and tested, to allow companies to gain greater awareness:
- on operation,
- on the benefits that these technologies can bring to operational processes,
- on the possible investment necessary to adopt them.
In this case, we are able to demonstrate:
in the Digital Twin field
✅ a digital product and process twin (in the Food & Beverage sector)
✅ a digital simulator for advanced and predictive control of production lines
in the industrial IoT field
✅ a Visual control system based on Machine Learning (ML) algorithms with integrated processing of results
✅ An indoor space monitoring system equipped with heterogeneous IoT devices
