Use Case: Zacmi Customer Care
E-Commerce for the digital management of technical customer relationships
Stakeholders Involved
Zanichelli Meccanica S.p.A. (manufacturer of systems for the food industry) and ProjectSoft (solution provider).
Benefits
Technical customer relationships are managed through a modern web platform, which provides instant customer service and ultimately, customer retention. Customers can view their machines’ technical specifications at any time, interactively browse the parts list and models, consult scheduled maintenance lists, and create shopping carts for parts and services.
The Challenge
The client, Zanichelli Meccanica S.p.A., needed to automate the process of publishing spare parts manuals to customers, which were already automatically generated through a separate application provided by ProjectSoft, to make the after-sales process even more transparent and streamlined, thereby enhancing their customer image.
The Solution
Zanichelli Meccanica S.p.A. (Zacmi) holds a leading position in the European and global markets as a specialized leader in the design and construction of filling and closing lines and processing systems for the food and beverage industry.
To address this challenge, Zacmi chose ProjectSoft, the company’s solution provider partner, to develop software tools for drafting and managing post-sales manuals.
The chosen approach was to create an advanced e-commerce web portal, called Zacmi Customer Care, which would allow the company’s customers to quickly and easily access the technical documentation for the systems they purchased. The innovation consisted of integrating the company’s information processes to provide users with all the tools needed to manage the life of the systems in a single tool:
- Spare parts manual automatically generated by integrated application
- Interactive multi-level parts lists from their corporate CAD-PLM
- Interactive technical specifications tables
- Supporting documentation
- Scheduled maintenance lists published by Zacmi itself
- Carts for preparing the purchase of spare parts
- Price lists compiled by the company ERP
- Automatic generation of quote requests from the cart
- Evolution of requests for quotations into customer orders within the company ERP
- Management of maintenance requests via tracked tickets
Using data from CAD, PLM, ERP, and SPC Manager tools, the collaboration between Zacmi and ProjectSoft led to the creation of the modern Zacmi Customer Care platform, which today has over 500 active users, including internal company staff and customers.
